Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger : A Little Romance

This is a fun challenge, I was wondering what if I stitch some lace onto a vintage blouse! I want to give it a try and see if it will work.
First, I stamped the vintage blouse with VersaFine Crimson Red ink, then I used clear embossing powder to emboss the blouse. After that, I cut the blouse out and stitched some lace to the bottom edge of it.

I want to create a vintage background for this card, I used red acrylic paint and gesso to make the first layer, then I applied some gelatos and use two stencils with fired brick distress ink to add more interests to the card, last but not least, I used fired brick distress ink to distress the cardstock edges.
When the card was assembled, I stamped the sentiment and added a pearl to the collar of the blouse to make the blouse more elegant and romantic.

This card will be entering to Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger : A Little Romance, also it will be sent to my friend Su-Ming who loves lace so much.

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday #229 ~ Make it Mini !

I saw Flourishes got new challenge today, which is “Make it Mini !”, the rule is to create three miniature cards sized 3”x 3” or close to it… just smaller than your typical A2, I think this is fun, so I decided to give it a try.
I picked three flower stamps from Flourishes, use Peeled Paint, Wild Honey and barn door three different distress inks and distress stains together with Spellbinders S4-318 Fleur de Lis Squares Dies to create the three mini cards.
Let me put a small Memento ink here with the three cards, then you will know how mini they are.
Here are the solo pictures for each of the card.

I had a lot of fun making the cards, and I had a lot of fun taking pictures for the 3 mini cards.

Flourishes Stamps & Scraps ~ Black & White Birthday Challenge!

Today I'm making a card to celebrate Flourishes 6th birthday by participating in the Black& White Birthday Challenge.

Talking about birthday card, I believe that I made at least 100 birthday cards a year, but none of them were black and white, so it is a challenge for me.

All the Flourishes stamps I have are flowers, so I have to use whatever birthday stamps I that is handy to use.

Thinking about birthday, then it must have a lot of birthday cakes, I stamped the birthday cakes cover the whole cardstock to make it a background. Then I cut a stripe of black cardstock and punch with Fiskars punch, next is to white emboss the sentiment “Happy Birthday”.

I stamped a gift stamp, drew the ribbon in black and the circles in grey, then cut it, adhere with a glue dot onto the left of the sentiment.
That is all about the black & white birthday card I made for this challenge. Happy birthday to Flourishes, and congratulations on the 6
th year !

Birthday Card Challenge in the Moxie Fab World

I just made a birthday card for my friend Doris whose birthday is in July, I am going to take this opportunity to attend Moxie Fab World Birthday Card challenge to add value this card.
I used Hero Arts CG281 Today and Always stamp, La Blanche one of the 2 Meadow Stamps, together with the Spellbinders Gold Labels 4 and Labels 4 dies.
I used stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the two stamps in the right place, then distressed the edge with Antique Linen distress Ink. The flowers were colored by Copic Markers.
This challenge ends on Aug 12, if you just made a birthday card lately, you are encouraged to attend this challenge. The winner will be announced on Aug 14. Good luck everyone!

Moxie Fab Mixy-Matchy Style Challenge

According to Cath, the Mixy-Matchy Style challenge is simply a matter of striking a balance between patterns, colors and composition to create something fun, interesting, and a little bit unexpected.
When I saw this challenge, I immediately think of Stamp with Zentangle, then color with the colors I seldom dare to use, so I started to work on it.

I picked a butterfly stamp from Inkadinkado, I stamped it with black Archival ink, then started to Zentangle in the rest of the white area.

After the Zentangle is done, I used Copic Markers to draw contrast colors. I attached a half punched gold cardstock, then adhere it to a black folded card.

When my daughter saw my card, she cried out and said “Mom, this is not your style, you always make the cards like Law-abiding type…………”, oh dear, does that mean I meet the criteria of this Moxie Fab Mixy-Matchy challenge?

Flourishes July It’s Sketchy Challenge

I didn’t participate in card challenge for years, today I saw there is a “It’s Sketchy” challenge from Flourishes, I feel like to give it a try.

Today, I want to make a pink card.

I used two stamps to create the background, then I used Heart circle elements Nestabilities from Spellbinders, and the Old Tea Rose from Flourishes to be my main image of the card. I colored the rose with my Copic markers, and distressed the edge with Victorian Velvet distress ink.

I used a ribbon and a button to decorate the card, then I am done !
